I am excited to tell you about this, because some people have never heard of it. In today's world of Internet and information, I choose you. Here we go.
In an ordinary meal you cook for everybody. Large bowl of salad, platter of meat or maybe a tasty dessert for all to enjoy. I might warn you that this is quite the opposite.
You are at an outing and you have food allergies or don't like the ingredients . Maybe something as simple as not liking onions or mushrooms. But hey, you want to be polite. You don't want anybody getting mad at you.
Wow, talk about an awkward situation. All I want is a meal that I like for my reasons.Well, what ever.
Don't you just hate that saying, "Whatever?"
Today you are going to be saved.
(The Fire Pit, aka: the Grill.)
A Tin Foil Dinner, aka: Hobo Dinner, aka: Camper's Dinner
Main Ingredients (Serves 1):
1 Carrot (Peeled)
1/4 Cup Broccoli
Take a piece of aluminum foil large about a 12x10."
The Main ingredients are Hamburger, potato, carrots and broccoli. Unroll a piece of aluminium foil big enough for 3 hamburgers. Now, slice the potato into 2 slices that mimic a hamburger shape. Now, slice a carrot into about 6 pieces at 3 inches long. Now chop up 4-5 chunks of broccoli.
You should have 1 hamburger patty, 2 slices of potato in shape of patty, 5-6 pieces of carrot and broccoli. Now put it all in that foil and wrap it up. This will go into the campfire or on your grill. Cook for about 20-25 minutes. Turn it over halfway through cook cycle, if you prefer.
That's it. You will enjoy a custom meal prepped by you and cooked for you. This is a single meal customized for your taste buds. Half the fun is being in total control of the fixings of a meal.
Think like an arts and craft student. Everyone has the same tools in hand to start with. You can be as creative as you like. Is there a unique topping you want to add here?
Your taste buds will melt just from the aroma of the blend of potato, carrot and cooked meat. You can adjust the ingredients to your liking, but at least keep the patty, potato and carrot in there.
It is actually fun to prepare these foil packs and if you're afraid of getting someone else's meal, use a black marker to put you personal label on. Personal meals have been around for a number of years.
If you like this challenge, start experimenting with other food sources, maybe just veggies!
Next time experiment with different ingredients!
